Vigilance Awareness programmes organised by ACB in Mendhar, Bhaderwah, Kathua, Handwara, Pampore, Budgam, Rafiabad and Srinagar





Jammu and Kashmir Anti Corruption Bureau is observing Vigilance Awareness week. ACB observes Vigilance Awareness Week every year to bring together all stakeholders in spreading the message of integrity in all spheres of life. This year, It is being observed from 31st October to 6th November with the following theme “Corruption free India for a developed nation”.Various awareness programmes for vigilance awareness are being organized across UT of J&K in this connection.
2. ACB Rajouri held a seminar in the Conference Hall ofGovt. Degree College Mendhar in presence of the officers/officials of other departments of Division Mendharalong with representatives of PRIs. During the course of seminar, the team of ACB also interacted with the participants including students and faculty members of the Degree College Mendhar, representatives of PRIs& general public gathered and also briefed them for lodging the complaints against such activities whenever they observe. They have also been assured that their grievances will be addressed upto the mark of their satisfaction. At the end, all the participants were encouraged and advised to come forward and join in the fight against corruption. One such program was organized yesterday in the Conference Hall of Govt. Degree College Sunderbani in presence of the officers/officials of other departments of Division Sunderbani along with representatives of PRIs.
3. Sh. SandeepWazir, AIG Administration of ACB Hqrs. in an exclusive program on Vigilance Awareness discusses various issues and spreads awareness and promote good governance amongst employees.
4. A team of ACB Doda today visited University Campus,Bhaderwah and organized Vigilance Awareness Programme Cum Seminar in the University Campus. The programme was attended by the Assistant Registrar cum Liaisoning Officer, Sh. Arif Khateeb of University Campus Bhaderwah, along with staff members and students. ACB team sensitize the faculty, other staff and students about functioning of Anti-Corruption Bureau. The pamphlets pertaining to the subject matter were also distributed among the participants. The participants especially the Assistant Registrar, Staff & Students of University Campus Bhaderwah appreciated the efforts of ACB in organizing such event which will help in achieving the goal of Corruption from society.
5. Sh. Dalip Kumar, SSP ACB Jammu today organized a seminar at DC Office Kathua. Sh. Rahul Pandey,IAS, DC Kathua, Sh. Atul Gupta, ADC Kathua and all district officers attended the programme.
6. ACB Jammu organized a Painting competition at Government College for Women, Parade,Jammu in connection with Vigilance Awareness Week.
7. ACB Anantnag in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) organized a seminar for sensitizing employees about the perils of corruption at JKEDI today. Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, IAS, Director JKEDI was the Chief Guest of the seminar. In his address, he stressed on the role of education in inculcating moral and ethical values of integrity. He further added that Government has taken various initiatives to ensure transparency and accountability in the governing set up. While praising the role of Anti Corruption Bureau, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat enumerated the role of JKEDI in dealing with the unemployed youth to create economic equality in the society which will in turn help in eradicating corruption. Mohammad Shafiq, DySP, Anti Corruption Bureau, Anantnag also spoke on the occasion and talked about the functioning of Anti Corruption Bureau and the process of lodging complaints. He further stressed on the need of reporting the corruption incidents and become whistle blowers through the online mobile app “SatarkNagrik “.Later in the program, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, Director JKEDI, Officials from Anti Corruption Bureau and faculty members of JKEDI took an integrity pledge to eradicate corruption for building a better developed nation.The program was moderated by Dr. Mehrajuddin Bhat, Incharge Trainings and Dr. Sameer Jan, Faculty member, JKEDI also spoke about ending corruption practices and a way forward to achieve this objective. Faisal Khan, Inspector ACB, Hilal Ahmad, Inspector ACB and the officers of JKEDI among others were also present at the occasion. A programme was also organized at Govt. Boys Hr. Sec. School Pulwama, ADCPulwama, Mr.Fayaz Ahmad Banday (JKAS) was the chief guest on the occasion and guest of honour was Mr.Nazir Ahmad Reshi, Chief Education Officer, Pulwama. ADC, CEO, Dy.SPHqrs. Pulwama Mr, Showkat Ahmad, Inspector Imtiyaz Ahmad of ACB South Kashmir and students of the institution spoke on the occasion on menace of corruption, its evil impact on society and how it can be eradicated from society. The participants at both the places hailed the efforts of Anti-Corruption Bureau in organizing the seminar and hoped that the initiative will go a long way in creating awareness against corruption among people.
8. ACB Baramulla today organized an awareness programme at Government Higher Secondary Institute Hadipora,Rafiabad. The team of Anti Corruption Bureau Baramulla headed by Dy.SP Mohammad Rafi interacted with students, staff & Civil Society members and made them aware about perils of corruption. The ACB team also explained how Teachers, Students & Civil Societies can help in the eradication of corruption menace. The team emphasized on them to inform Anti Corruption Bureau immediately through phone or mail regarding any corrupt practice in their area. The ACB team also assured them of swift action on their information. Principal Government Degree College Hadipora Mr. GhulamNabi Lone was Chief Guest and Principal of the Government Higher Secondary Institute Hadipora Mr. AltafHussain Tara was the Guest of Honour of this awareness programme.On this occasion, Dy. SP Mohmad Rafi also administered “pledge of Integrity” to all present there. A program on Vigilance Awareness was also organized at Government Degree College, Handwara.
9. ACB Srinagar organized Seminars at two different places under the aegis of "Vigilance Awareness Week-2022". While one seminar was organised at the Conference Hall of District Collectorate Budgam another was organised at newly established Govt. Degree College Hyderpora Srinagar.At Budgam, DC Budgam Mr. Syeed Fakhurudin Hamid-IAS was the chief guest and SSP Budgam Mr. TahirSaleem-JKPS was the guest of honour. Both the guests adressed the audience. DC Budgam Mr. SyeedFakhurudin Hamid-IAS informed the audience about Janbhagidari portal/app. The portal is an initiative to bring transparency in the execution of works by enabling citizens to overview works/projects being implemented in their areas and become a partner in the process of development. He elaborated that information available on this one-stop platform can be utilized for timely feedback/ suggestions for improving expenditure outcomes in spirit of togetherness. SSP Budgam Mr.Tahir Saleem-JKPS spoke on the issues a public servant has to face in case his corrupt practices come in the notice of ACB or other law enforcing agencies. In addition, Senior Superintendent of Police Abdul Waheed Shah-JKPS, AIG Anti-Corruption Bureau Headquarters, ADC, Budgam Dr. Nasir Ali along with some other officers of ACB Srinagar addressed the gathering and spoke on Corruption, its evil impact on society and how it can be checked and eradicated from the society. Finally Superintendent of Police, ACB Srinagar gave a detailed presentation on the topic aimed at creating awareness among general public in general and the audience in particular. He elaborated on the ways and means for the general public to approach ACB for institution or registration of complaints. Likewise, at Degree College Hyderpora Srinagar, Principal of the institution; Prof. (Dr.) Ghulam Jeelani was the chief guest. The chief guest among others adressed the audience. From Anti-Corruption Bureau some officers spoke on the occasion and gave power point presentations on the menace of corruption, its evil impact on society and how it can be eradicated from society. Mr. Ghulam Jeelani, CPO ACB Srinagar spoke on types of corruption cases, convictions and Regular Departmental Inquiries. Mr. Reyaz Ahmad, SrPO ACB Srinagar spoke on the role of Departmental Vigilance Officers in combating corruption. Insp. GhulamNabi, ACB Srinagar spoke on the role and responsibility of general public and how to register a complaint with ACB. Mr. Tanveer Ahmad, AEE ACB Srinagar spoke on the role of public in monitoring public works. Finally, Insp. Tanveer Hussain also spoke on the topic.The speakers in general stressed upon common masses to be eyes and ears of Anti-Corruption bodies and contribute their bit towards making India Corruption free. Contact details of Anti-Corruption Bureau were also shared with the audience for registration of complaints of Corruption. The participants at both the places hailed the efforts of Anti-Corruption Bureau in organizing the seminar and hoped that the initiative will go a long way in creating awareness against corruption among people.
