Anti Corruption Bureau arrested five officers & officials of Revenue Department namely Abdul Rashid Parray (then Patwari), Ghulam Hassan Sofi (then Patwari), Zulfikar Malik (then Patwari), Mohammad Shafi Lone (then Patwari) and Ghulam Hassan Chopan (then Naib Tehsildar) in case FIR No. 25/2012 u/s 5(1) (c), 5(1) (d) r/w 5(2) J&K Prevention of Corruption Act and sections 120-B, 420, 467, 468, 471RPC and produced before Anti Corruption Court Baramulla alongwith charge-sheet against them. Chargesheet was also presented against Surjeet Singh (then Tehsildar Bandipora) u/s 299 Cr.PC.

2. During investigation of the instant case, it was established that accused Patwari Bandipora namely Abdul Rashid Parray in league with other accused Revenue officers & officials of Bandipora has affected 130 pre-dated mutations in Halqa Bandipora and to achieve this objective he has inserted various leaves (Parats) in the Mutation Registers and given sub-numbers to the mutations. The assigned mutation fee against 105 out of 130 mutations, has not been deposited in the Government Treasury and thereby caused a loss of Rs 5,00,195/- to State Exchequer on account of Mutation fee only. It was also found that huge number of leaves (parat) have been inserted in the Mutation Registers to affect fraudulent pre-dated mutations on oral gifts and thereby causing further loss to State Exchequer on account of Registration (Court) fees and Stamp duty.

3. The charge-sheet against them was presented in Anti Corruption Court Baramulla after Competent Authority granted sanction for prosecution against two in-service accused public servants namely Abdul Rashid Parray (Patwari Bandipora) and Mohammad Shafi Lone (Girdawar Kuloosa Bandipora).

4. Next date of hearing has been fixed 27.11.2020.
