ACB traps and arrest Reyaz Ahmad Mir, Village Level Worker, Block Soibugh, Budgam for accepting bribe in lieu of signing the authority of works under MGNREGA

Anti Corruption Bureau received a complaint that Reyaz Ahmad Mir, Village Level Worker(VLW), Block Soibugh, Budgam is demanding Rs. 2000/- as bribe from the complainant in lieu of signing the authority of works under MGNREGA .

2. On receipt of the complaint, Case FIR No. 36/2021 PS ACB Srinagar U/S 7 PC Act 1988 was registered and investigation taken up.

3. During the course of investigation, a trap team was constituted. The trap team laid a successful trap and caught red-handed Reyaz Ahmad Mir, VLW Block Soibugh, Budgam while demanding and accepting the bribe money from the complainant in presence of independent witness. The VLW has already earlier also demanded and accepted bribe money and was demanded fresh bribe from the complainant. He was arrested and taken into custody by ACB Team.

4. Further investigation into the case is going on.
