Vigilance Awareness Programmes organised by ACB at Khour, Akhnoor, Surankote, Kishtwar, Reasi, Samba, Anantnag, Srinagar and Baramulla





ACB Central Jammu organized a Seminar cum workshop at the Govt. Degree College, Khour, Jammu to commemorate the Vigilance Awareness Week, 2022. Students of GDC, Khour, Jammu alongwith teachers and other faculty members of GDC, Khour, Jammu also attended the workshop organized by ACB. Insp. Ajit Singh and Insp. Punjab Singh gave an insight about the corruption and its impacts in Society through power point presentation and advices them to not to be the part of the corrupt system.
2. ACB Rajouri held a seminar in the Conference Hall of Govt. Degree College Surankote in presence of the officers/officials of other departments of Division Surankote along with representatives of PRIs. During the seminar, lectures were delivered by Dy. SP Sunny Gupta, Inspr Shamim Ahmed and Inspr Surinder Pal Singh of ACBJ along with other participants among the masses on prevention of corruption. During the course of seminar, the team of ACB also interacted with the participants including students and faculty members of the Degree College Surankote, representatives of PRIs & general public gathered and also briefed them for lodging the complaints against such activities whenever they observe. They have also been assured that their grievances will be addressed upto the mark of their satisfaction. At the end, all the participants were encouraged and advised to come forward and join in the fight against corruption.
3. Teams of ACB Doda headed by Sh. Sandeep Wazir, SSP, ACB (AIG Admn.) J&K organized Vigilance Awareness Programme Cum Seminar in the Office of DC Kishtwar & Govt. Degree College Kishtwar. The programme which was held in DC office Kishtwar was attended by the DC Kishtwar as a “chief guest”, SSP Kishtwar as a “guest of hounour”, and ADC Kishtwar, other staff members & DVOs of different Departments of District Kishtwar whereas 2nd programme was held at Govt. Degree College Kishtwar which was attended by the Principal Govt. Degree College Kishtwar, Staff and students. A debate competition of students was also conducted and certificate/mementoes were presented to the students who stood 1st ,2nd & 3rd in debate competition. Rally in Kishtwar town was conducted by the students and ACB officers for creating awareness against corruption among general masses. Besides, 3rd programme was held at Block Development Office, Block Bounjwah by the ACB team which was attended by the BDO Bounjwah, staff, panches/sarpanches and general public of the said Block. The ACB teams sensitize the faculty, DVOs, other staff, students, panches/sarpanches and general public about the functioning of Anti-Corruption Bureau and how to weedout Corruption from the Society. The pamphlets pertaining to the subject matter were also distributed among the participants. The participants especially the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, SSP Kishtwar and Principal Govt. Degree College Kishtwar appreciated the efforts of ACB in organizing the events and hope that such programme will be organized in future also, which will help in achieving the goal of Corruption from society.
4. A team of ACB Udhampur under the supervision of Sh. Mohammad Rashid Bhat, JKPS, SSP Anti-Corruption Bureau (Udhampur-Reasi), visited Mini Secretariat Reasi and organized Vigilance Awareness programme at Conference Hall. The Dy. Commissioner Reasi was the (Chief Guest) and SSP Reasi was the (Guest of Honour) on the occasion. The Senior officers of District Administration, DVOs of various Departments, PRI members, Panches and Sarpanches, Social workers of District Reasi, Police officers/officials of District Reasi, and clerical staff of Mini Secretariat attended the Vigilance the Awareness Programme. SSP ACB (Udhampur-Reasi) briefed about the history/importance of Vigilance Awareness Week. SSP ACB (UR) enlightened all present about the draconian size of corruption in the society and the role of the ACB to curb it to the optimum level. He shared the latest updates with relation to the available gadgets and state of art machinery put on task with human intervention to curb the prevalent corruption in different levels. He also appealed to the young minds particularly, to be the whistle blowers and the front torch bearers to become a bold voice against corruption. The Power Point Presentation presented by Sh. Pawan Kumar, Dy.SP, ACB (UR) Wing who told about the purpose of observing Vigilance Awareness Week. Inspr. Bhushan Singh Mahas of ACB (UR) Wing also speak on the occasion regarding how to approach Anti-Corruption Bureau for lodging complaint against public servants and steps to be taken by the ACB on the said complaint. The Awareness programme was organized by Dy.SP Gurmeet Singh of ACB (UR) Wing who also presented vote of thanks to all the participants on the behalf of Anti-Corruption Bureau. The ACB team also distributed the pamphlets among the participants.
5. ACB Jammu organized an awareness programme at DC Office Samba. On the occasion, Mrs. Anuradha Gupta, DC Samba was Chief Guest. Sh. Dalip Kumar, SSP ACB Jammu sensitize the participants about functioning of Anti-Corruption Bureau and how to weedout Corruption from the Society. The pamphlets pertaining to the subject matter were also distributed among the participants. The participants especially the Deputy Commissioner Samba, appreciated the efforts of ACB in organizing the event and hope that such type of programme will be organize in future also, which will help in achieving the goal of Corruption from society. Another Awareness program was organized by ACB Jammu at Government Degree College, Akhnoor.
6. ACB Anantnag in Collaboration with staff of Govt Degree College, Anantnag organized seminar at this location, to brief students and the staff about the ill-effects of corruption to our society. The seminar is a part of the Vigilance Awareness Week-2022 which commenced from 31st of October,2022 i.e Birthday of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (the Iron man of India) and is being observed across the country with the theme “Corruption free India for a developed nation”. The staff of Govt Degree College, Anantnag and students were present as audience. Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Dr Basharat Qayoom(IAS), Sr. Superintendent of Police, ACB, South Kashmir Shri Rakesh Kumar, JKPS , Adl. Superintendent of Police, Anantnag Sh. Amit Verma, JKPS, Principal Govt Degree College, Anantnag Prof. Muzaffar Ahmad Bhat , staff of GDC, Anantnag and students addressed the gathering and spoke about Corruption, its evil impact on society and how it can be checked and eradicated it from the society. A detailed presentation about Zero tolerance for corruption ,various aspects of corruption , agencies dealing with it , laws and rules, how to approach the ACB was covered in the deliberation delivered by the SSP ACB South Kashmir. Contact details of Anti-Corruption Bureau were also shared with the audience for registration of complaints of Corruption. The audiences were briefed about the functioning of ACB, J&K and how it is contributing towards eradication of corruption from society. Be Ears an eye of the ACB, J&K. Likewise, at D.C Office Kulgam Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Mr. Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-din Bhat (IAS); was the chief guest on the occasion, guest of honour was Mr. G.V. Sandeep (IPS). The DDC Chairman Mr. Mohammad Afzal and all District HOD’s were present. The Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, ACD Kulgam Mr. Mohammad Imran Khan, ADDC Kulgam Mr. Reyaz Ahmad, Addl.D.C(DVO) Kulgam Mr. Showkat Ahmad Rather, Tehsildar Hqrs. Kulgam Mr. Ali Mohmmad, Special Public Prosecutor (ACB) Anti-Corruption Court Anantnag, Mr. Khursheed Ahmad Satari and Inspector ACB Mr. Manzoor Ahmad Baig spoke on the occasion on menace of corruption, its evil impact on society. The speakers stressed upon common masses to be eyes and ears of Anti-Corruption bodies and contribute their bit towards making India Corruption free. Contact details of Anti-Corruption Bureau were also shared with the audience for registration of complaints of Corruption. The participants at both the places hailed the efforts of Anti-Corruption Bureau in organizing the seminar and hoped that the initiative will go a long way in creating awareness against corruption among people.
7. ACB Srinagar organized a grand seminar titled corruption free India for a developed nation under the aegis of vigilance awareness week 2022 at the conference hall of district collectorate Srinagar. Speakers from Civil administration as well as ACB Srinagar spoke on the occasion. DC Srinagar Mr Mohammad Ajaz was the chief guest on the occasion who delivered presidential address. He appreciated ACB for organizing the seminar and said that such seminars should be organized at gross root level to make general masses aware of the issue. He further tasked his DVO to take steps towards organizing such awareness programs at grass root level. SSP Abdul Wahid Shah JKPS AIG ACB J&K while speaking on the occasion gave genesis of Vigilance Awareness Week, its inception and its purpose. ADC Mohammad Haneef Balki, SSP Hqrs Sgr Arif Amin JKPS and Mohamad Yaseen Lone Chief Planning Officer Srinagar also spoke on the occasion highlighting different issues of corruption and role of general public in combating it. Dr Zahoor Ahmad Wani-JKPS SP ACB Srinagar gave a detailed presentation on the menace of corruption and how it can be checked and eradicated from the society. He informed that both bribe giver and bribe taker are culpable under PC Act. He further said that every person is a vigilance officer and should keep his eyes and ears open and report one and all instances of corruption which comes to his notice. The speakers in general stressed upon common masses to be eyes and ears of Anti-Corruption bodies and contribute their bit towards making India Corruption free. Contact details of Anti-Corruption Bureau were also shared with the audience for registration of complaints of Corruption. The participants at both the places hailed the efforts of Anti-Corruption Bureau in organizing the seminar and hoped that the initiative will go a long way in creating awareness against corruption among people.
8. An awareness programme was held by Anti Corruption Bureau Baramulla at Government Higher Secondary Institute Gosghbugh Pattan. The team of Anti Corruption Bureau Baramulla headed by Dy. SP Mohmad Rafi interacted with Staff & Students of the institute. On this occasion Principal Mr. Ghulam Nabi Bhat, Staff members, students & ACB officers spoke about the perils of corruption and how it affects everyone of us. On this occasion a skit on Corruption was performed by the students of this institute wherein they highlighted that pessimism has crept among youth regarding their careers due to vicious cycle of corruption. The “pledge of Integrity” was administered to all present there. A similar awareness programme was held at Sanctorum College of Education Lalad Sopore by the same team of Anti Corruption Bureau Baramulla. The Staff & Students spoke on this occasion and threw light on various aspects of corruption. Dy. SP Mohmad Rafi presented a Power Point Presentation. The ACB officers conducted a workshop there and explained to the Staff & Students how they can help in the eradication of corruption. They demonstrated the accessibility of Anti Corruption Bureau through Toll Free numbers, WhatsApp, email & appliances like Satark Nagrik. The “pledge of Integrity” was administered to all present there.
