Jammu and Kashmir Anti Corruption Bureau is observing Vigilance Awareness week. This year vigilance awareness week is being celebrated from 31st October to 06 November, 2022 with the theme “ Corruption free India for a developed Nation”. Various awareness programmes for vigilance awareness are being organized across UT of J&K in this connection.
2. ACB conducted work shop/ interactive session with Faculty/ Officers/ Officials and Students of The Business School of Jammu University. On the occasion, Prof. UmeshRai, Vice Chancellor was Chief Guest and Sh. Anand Jain, IPS,Director Anti Corruption Bureau was Guest of Honour. Dy.SP Ashok Sharma gave a brief introduction about the Anti Corruption Bureau and and issues related to corrupt practices pertaining to Prevention of Corruption Act 1988. SP Abhisheik Sharma gave a presentation on the topic of Departmental Vigilance Mechanism in Anti Corruption Bureau.
3. ACB Rajouri held a seminar in the Conference Hall ofGovt. Degree College Nowshera in presence of the officers/officials of other departments of Division Nowshera along with representatives of PRIs. During the seminar, lectures were delivered by Inspr Shrikant Parihar, Inspr Punjab Singh and Inspr Maninder Singh of ACBJ among the masses on prevention of corruption. The team of ACB also interacted with the participants including students and faculty members of the Degree CollegeNowshera, representatives of PRIs& general public gathered and also briefed them for lodging the complaints against such activities whenever they observe. They have also been assured that their grievances will be addressed upto the mark of their satisfaction. At the end, all the participants were encouraged and advised to come forward and join in the fight against corruption.
4. A team of Police Station ACB Doda visited Govt. Degree College Ramban and organized vigilance awareness programme Cum Seminar in the mini auditorium of the College. The programme was attended by the Principal, staff members and around 120 students. ACB team sensitize the faculty, other staff and students about functioning of Anti-Corruption Bureau. The pamphlets pertaining to the subject matter were also distributed among the participants. The participants especially the Principal, Staff & Students of Degree College Ramban appreciated the efforts of ACB in organizing such event.
5. A team of Police Station ACB Udhampur visited Govt. Degree College for Boys Udhampur and organized Vigilance Awareness programme in which hundreds of college students were participated along with I/C Principal Govt. Degree College Boys for Udhampur, Dr. Ashwani Jojra (District Agricultural Officer Udhampur), (District Health Officer Udhampur) and Teaching/ Non-teaching staff of College. ACB team sensitized the officers/officials/ students present there about Corruption and how to curb Corruption and unethical practices. ACB team also distributed the pamphlets among the participants.
6. ACB Jammu organized a Painting competition at Balgran, a charitable Institute for destitute children situated at Channi Rama.10 girl students of varying classes from UKG to 8th class participated in the competition.Ambika Thakur of 7th class, Muskan Rathore of class 7th and UswaArshad of class 8th stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively. The winners were given prizes and certificates.
7. ACB Baramulla organized a programme at Government Higher Secondary Institute Chandilora Tangmarg. Dy. SP Mohmad Rafi interacted with the students & staff of the institute and threw light on the perils of corruption. The ACB team also explained to them how Citizens & Schools can help in the eradication of this menace. Principal of the institute Mr. Zafar Iqbal Lone was the chief guest of this awareness programme.On this occasion, Dy. SP Mohmad Rafi also administered “pledge of Integrity” to the students and staff of the Institute. The programmes were also organized at Govt. Degree College Langate and Govt. Degree College Sumbal District Bandipora etc in which PRIs, Civil Society members, Transport association members, other citizens and the local youth participated.
8. ACB Srinagar organized a Seminar at Central University Kashmir. Staff of the University and students were present as audience. Vice Chancellor of Central University Prof Khursheed Ahmad was chief Guest on the occasion who gave valedictory adress to the gathering. Mr Zahoor Ahmad, JKPS, SSP ACB Srinagar and other officers of the ACB spoke on the occasion and gave power point presentations on the menace of corruption, its evil impact on society and how it can be eradicated from society. The speakers stressed upon common masses to be eyes and ears of Anti-Corruption bodies and contribute their bit towards making India Corruption free. Contact details of Anti-Corruption Bureau were also shared with the audience for registration of complaints of Corruption.
9. ACB Anantnag organized a Seminar at IUST Awantipora. Vice Chancellor of IUST Prof Shakeel Ahmad Romshu was chief Guest on the occasion who gave valedictory address to the gathering. The Chief Guest vice Chancellor had thrown light on various forms of corruption and their remedies. He urged upon the staff and students to be dutiful and perform your duties with full dedication and to the best of your abilities, the students of today are the leaders of the tomorrow, and we must inculcate in them the values of habits of being non-corrupt and they should not be the part of corrupt practices. Mr Rakesh Kumar, JKPS, SSP ACB Anantnag and other officers of the organization spoke on the occasion. A detailed presentation on the various aspects of awareness on corruption, legal aspects, agencies to be approached if any corrupt practices are observed in area were highlighted by SSP ACB South Kashmir.
10.Another programme was organized at Govt. Hr. Sec. School Pahalgam Anantnag by the ACB south Kashmir. The Chief Guest Mr. Masarat Hashim, Chief Executive Officer, Municipal Committee Anantnag, presided over the programme. Mr. Syed Naseer Ahmad (Guest of Honour), Sub-Divisional Magistrate Pahalgam, Dr. Hussain, TehsildarPahalgam, Special Public Prosecutor (ACB) Anti-Corruption Court Anantnag Mr. Ajaz Ahmad, Inspector Hilal Ahmad (ACB South Kashmir) and students of the institution addressed the audience about the importance of Vigilance Awareness and legal aspects of the corruption. The Chief Guest Chief Executive Officer, Municipal Committee Anantnag Mr. Masarat Hashim gave a overall view of the discussion held and the awareness of the preventive vigilance.
