One Day Programme on “Vigilance Awareness (Procurements Anti-Corruption Laws and Mechanism)” in collaboration with Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Kashmir organized by ACB

Anti-Corruption Bureau in collaboration with Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Kashmir (Shalimar Srinagar) organized a day long Vigilance Awareness Program on the theme “Vigilance Awareness (Procurements Anti-Corruption Laws and Mechanism)” at Central Conference Hall at SKUAST Shalimar Srinagar.

2. The seminar was started with Welcome address by Prof. Sh. T.H Masoodi, Registrar SKUAST Kashmir, who also administered pledge taking ceremony on the occasion to all the participants including faculty and staff of the University. Faculty, Staff of the University and officers / officials of ACB Anantnag (South Kashmir) were present as audience. Acting Vice- Chancellor of SKUAST Professor Sh. M.A.A. Siddique was chief Guest on the occasion who gave valedictory address to the gathering. The Chief Guest (vice Chancellor) had thrown light on various forms of corruption and their remedies. He urged upon the staff audience to be dutiful and perform your duties with full dedication and to the best of your abilities.

3. Sr. Superintendent of Police Anti-Corruption Bureau Sh. Rakesh Kumar address to the participants about ill effects of the Corruption, PIDPI guidelines, vigilance working procedures and how to combat corruption. A detailed Power Point Presentation was also presented regarding the Vigilance awareness . A detailed presentation on the various aspects of awareness on corruption, legal aspects, agencies to be approached if any corrupt practices are observed in area were highlighted by SSP ACB South Kashmir.

4. For ensuring participative vigilance, the participants were briefed about Capacity building programmes, identification and implementation of systematic improvement measures , leveraging of IT for complaint disposal, updating of Circular/Guidelines/Manuals etc. Executive Engineer ACB Kashmir Sh. Ajaz Masood Bhat spoke on the occasion and gave a detailed Presentation on the prescribed procedure about procurement of goods and services and Gem guidelines. He discussed the intricacies of the subject with meticulous and insightful precision. the various Gray areas in the procurements are explained in details

5. Chief Prosecuting Officer, ACB Anantnag (South Kashmir) Sh. Farooq Ahmad spoke about the importance of Vigilance awareness programs and also discussed laws regarding the corruption. He has elaborated the roles and responsibilities of public servants while discharging official duties.

6. Program ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Shoukat Ara, Professor and Head, Div. of Environmental Science / Chief Vigilance Officer (SKUAST Kashmir).
