ACB produced charge-sheet against Sgct. Mohd Sultan, then Munshi, Police Post Chinore, Jammu in trap case

Anti Corruption Bureau produced Charge-Sheet of case FIR No. 03/2023 P/S ACB-Jammu U/S 7 of P.C Act 1988, registered against Mohd Sultan then Sgct. posted as Munshi at Police Post Chniore, Jammu.

2. The instant case was registered on the basias of a complaint alleging therein that Munshi of Police Post Chinore Sgct. Mohd Sultan is demanding bribe of ₹8,000 for releasing the son of complainant from Police custody. The complainant already paid ₹4,000 out of demanded bribe of ₹8,000 but the accused again demanded ₹4,000 for release of son.

3. On the said complaint Anti-Corruption Bureau laid a trap. Sgct. Mohd Sultan then Munshi, Police Post Chinore, Jammu was caught red handed while demanding and accepting the bribe amount which was recovered from his possession in presence of independent witnesses.

4. After completion of investigation and obtaining sanction for prosecution from competent authority, the charge sheet was produced before the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption Jammu for judicial determination.

5. The next date of hearing is fixed on 23.04.2024.
