ANTI-CORRUPTION BUREAU BOOKED MOHAMMAD ASHRAF AND PRANAV GANDOTRA, FORMER TSOs KALAKOTE FOR MISAPPROPRIATION OF KEROSENE OIL

Anti-Corruption Bureau registered a formal case against Mohammad Ashraf, Pranav Gandotra then TSOs Kalakote and others vide FIR No. 05/2019 u/s 5(1)(c), 5(1) (d) r/w section 5(2) of J&K PC Act Svt. 2006 at P/S ACB, Jammu on 07.01.2019. The instant case was registered on the basis of Joint Surprise Check conducted by Anti Corruption Bureau regarding allegation of huge pilferage of kerosene oil that had taken place in Traith area of Kalakote District Rajouri. Verification conducted by the Anti Corruption Bureau revealed that 263680 Ltrs of kerosene oil had been shown allotted to the dealers of Triath and adjoining areas. However the dealers had received only 1,77,000 ltrs of kerosene oil for its distribution to the Ration Card Holders of the area, whereas 86680 ltrs of kerosene oil allotted to dealers of Triath and adjoining areas was misappropriated by above mentioned accused persons by misuse and abuse of their official position for pecuniary gains, thereby depriving the genuine beneficiaries of their quota of kerosene oil and also caused loss amounting to Rs. 23,95,401/- to the state exchequer. On the prima-facie establishment of allegations, the instant case under relevant section of law has been registered at P/S ACB Jammu and investigation taken up.
