ACB conducted special awareness programmes across UT of Jammu and Kashmir in connection with Vigilance Awareness Week to make India free from corruption.







Vigilance Awareness Program 2024 is being celebrated across UT of Jammu and Kashmir. During this week Anti-Corruption Bureau J&K has been organizing seminars at different places wherein speakers from the Bureau speak on the topic Day of Resolution for Freedom from Corruption. Besides, hoardings, banners and posters have been installed at different places throughout the UT of J&K.

Government College of Education, Jammu organized week long activities to observe Vigilance Awareness Week in the college campus as per the directions of JKHED. The students organized rally against corruption, slogan writing poster making etc. On the concluding day of the awareness week SSP, ACB Sh. Sandeep Wazir, IPS was the Chief Guest. The program witnessed detailed presentations by Sh. Deedar Singh, DySP ACB related to functioning of ACB, process of lodging complaints against corrupt public servants and the practices to curb menace of corruption. The presentation was followed by interactive session in which Mr. Mohd Amir–al-Mansoor CPO answered the queries of students and the staff members of GCOE Jammu. In the presidential address Principal of the college, Dr Jyoti Parihar expressed her gratitude towards the officers from ACB for conducting the program. She assured that the institution will work towards a corruption free India. The college will also collaborate with law enforcement agencies like ACB towards achieving a common goal that is a progressive and corruption free India. She appreciated the dedication and commitment of the visiting team. Sh Wazir SSP also reiterated during his interaction with the students that corruption is not just a word, it is a deep-rooted malice that affects every aspect of our society. It erodes trust, weakens institutions and deprives our fellow citizens of their rightful opportunities. From the smallest bribe to the largest scam, corruption perpetuates inequality, fosters injustice and slows down the wheels of progress. But as daunting as this challenge may seem, it is not insurmountable. A corruption-free India is not just a lofty ideal, it is an achievable goal if become aware citizens and work together. The program was conducted by Dr Shalini Rana while vote of thanks was presented by Prof Sarita Dogra. The students who acted as student organizers were Ms. Neha Bashal and Ms. Anjali Sharma.

ACB Anantnag organized seminar at Town Hall, Dooru, Anantnag. The Speakers viz. Dy.SP Narinder Singh, Inspr.Jalal ud Fani and Inspr. Manzoor Ahmad Beigh from ACB spoke on various issues related to corruption, its evil impact on society and how it can be checked and eradicated from the society. Speakers gave a detailed presentation on overview of corruption and its evil impact on society. They also informed the audience about functioning of ACB and elaborated on the ways and means for the general public to approach ACB for institution or registration of complaints. They stressed upon the role of general public in combating corruption. The speakers in general stressed upon common masses to be eyes and ears of Anti-Corruption bodies and contribute their bit towards making UT Corruption free. Contact details of Anti-Corruption Bureau were also shared with the audience for registration of complaints of Corruption. The participants at all the places hailed the efforts of Anti-Corruption Bureau in organizing the seminar and hoped that the initiative will go a long way in creating awareness against corruption among people.

On the fourth day of Vigilance Week, ACB Srinagar held seminars on "Freedom from Corruption" at four locations viz, Directorate of Industries Kashmir, Bemina, Engineering Complex, Rajbagh, Srinagar, Municipal Committee, Budgam and Power Development Department Budgam. Speakers from ACB Srinagar discussed the current state of corruption and emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability. Attendees participated in discussions on anti-corruption laws and ethical governance. Officers of R&B attended the program through virtual mode, as well.

ACB Doda in collaboration with Government Degree College, Kishtwar organized Vigilance Awareness Program at GDC Kishtwar. Around 200 students, NSS volunteers, Principal GDC Kishtwar Prof. Basharat Iqbal along with staff of GDC attended the program. Asstt. Director FCC Shri. Shafqat Qayoom Addl. SP Kishtwar Shri. Pawan Sharma, ADDC Kishtwar Shri Gulam Rasool and other officials of district administration and police department were also present in the occasion. During the program all the dignitaries and students took the pledge against corruption. During the program enthusiastic student speakers of GDC Kishtwar also participated in the speech competition on Corruption and among them Ms Abroo Wajid secured first prize, Mr. Anuragh Sharma secured 2nd prize and Payal Parihar secured 3rd prize. Sh. Rakesh Kumar SSP ACB Doda explained in detail about the different form of corruption, CVC Preventive Vigilance Measures, CVC Complaint guideline for public against public servant, causes of corruptions and consequences for public servant for indulging in corruption and ways to prevent it. Principal GDC Kishtwar Prof. Basharat Iqbal in his lecture deliberated upon the need to create a culture of transparency, accountability and integrity in order to make our country a corruption free society. ADDC Kishtwar Shri Gulam Rasool in his speech also encouraged the audience to stand the corruption with a bold voice.

ACB Udhampur in connection with the vigilance awareness week, conducted a program at Higher secondary school (boys), Katra. The program was attended by about 150 participants which includes ADC Reasi, ADDC Reasi and SDM Katra. ACB Officers DySP Gurmeet Singh and Insp Anzar Ahmed delivered speeches on the working of ACB and different measures to curb the menace of corruption.

ACB Rajouri in collaboration with civil administration of District Rajouri organized Vigilance Awareness Week, 2024 at Dak Bunglow Rajouri with the theme “Day of Resolution for freedom from Corruption”. Around 200 volunteers, ADC Rajouri, ACD Rajouri, SE PWD Rajouri and other officers/officials/DVOs of different Departments of District Rajouri were also present in the occasion. Shri Amit Verma, SSP ACB administered the pledge. All the dignitary and volunteers present in the program also took the pledge against Corruption. Moreover, during the program enthusiastic volunteers participated in the speech on corruption. Sh.Amit Verma, SSP explained in detail about the different form of corruption, CVC Preventive Vigilance Measures, CVC complaint guideline for public against public servant, causes of corruption and consequences for public servants for indulging in corruption and ways to prevent it. Besides, ADC, ACD Rajouri, and SE PWD Rajouri in their lecture deliberated upon the need to create a culture of transparency, accountability and integrity in order to make our country a corruption free society. They also encouraged the audience to stand the corruption with a bold voice. Similarly, another ACB team consisting of Shri Anshuman Dubey, CPO, Inspector Jatinder Raina, Inspr. Naresh Chander & Inspr. Surinder Singh in collaboration with the GDC Poonch also organized a seminar at Govt. Degree College Poonch. Around 250 students, faculty members and staff of GDC Poonch were present in the occasion. Moreover, during the program enthusiastic student speaker of GDC Poonch participated in the speech competition on corruption, expressed their resolve to fight against the menace of corruption and secured appreciation certificates.

ACB Baramulla organized Vigilance awareness progarms at Tangmarg, Baramulla and at SDM Office, Sumbal whereas ACB Jammu organized Vigilance awareness programs at District Police Lines, Jammu and at DC Office Kathua.
