J&K ACB presented Charge-Sheet against Mohammad Muzaffer Rather, then Sarpanch Manigam Ganderbal in a trap case.

Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau presented Charge-sheet in case FIR No. 13/2023 under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 of Police Station ACB Srinagar Kashmir against accused public servant namely Mohammad Muzaffer Rather, then Sarpanch Manigam Ganderbal, in a bribery case before the Hon`ble Special Judge Anti-Corruption Court Srinagar.

The FIR was registered on 01-08-2023 on a written complaint alleging therein that aforesaid accused demanded ₹9,000/- as bribe for affecting settlement between the complainant and his sister, of a property dispute between them. A trap was laid down and the accused was caught red-handed while accepting ₹9000/- as bribe from the complainant. The bribe money was recovered on spot and chemical tests later confirmed the presence of phenolphthalein on the accused’s hands.

Based on the facts and circumstances together with cogent evidences brought on record, the investigation established the commission of offence u/s 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 against the accused public servant namely Mohammad Muzaffer Rather, then Sarpanch Manigam Ganderbal.

After obtaining the requisite sanction for prosecution from the Govt. the charge-sheet has been presented before the Hon’ble Court of Special Anti-Corruption Judge Srinagar, today on 16 December 2025 for judicial determination.

The next date of hearing has been fixed on 02-03-2026.
